The signs are so small most people pay anyway | Posted on Tue 13/05/14 07:13 PM |
The forum is a brtgiher place thanks to your posts. Thanks! | Posted on Sun 31/08/14 12:18 PM |
I agree, we know because we're locals. Better signage but apart from that what a fabulous idea | Posted on Sat 13/09/14 10:04 AM |
Free parking is pointless, I see visitors parking in the Alexandra Square one and then going to the train station off to Plymouth or Newquay for the day. Waste of money in my opinion. 40p an hour is brilliant value anyway. Spend the money improving other areas. | Posted on Sat 13/09/14 07:16 PM |
Free parking can only be a good thing, sometimes it will get abused, but on the whole we need to keep it. | Posted on Sat 13/09/14 08:03 PM |
I disagree that free parking is a good thing, it doesn't seem to affect my business in any way at all. I see full car parks and empty shops on Saturdays. | Posted on Tue 16/09/14 07:32 PM |
If the council provided new ticket machines as promised then a regime for beneficial parking charging could be implemented | Posted on Wed 17/09/14 04:38 PM |
The council are liaising with Cornwall Council to sort out new machines but as always these things do take time. | Posted on Sat 20/09/14 10:07 AM |

Whilst we have the free car parking on Saturdays may I ask all businesses to advertise this on their Facebook pages, twitter accounts and social media? | Posted on Mon 29/09/14 04:58 PM |
I have been advertising the free parking on my shop window but people tell me the sign on the actual machine is so small in the car park they can't see it! I checked this and it's actually at the bottom of the sign,by the floor in small writing. If the free parking gets reinstated in November how about these signs get made bigger so customers notice them? | Posted on Tue 30/09/14 04:14 PM |
Will the free parking be extended in November?? | Posted on Tue 30/09/14 07:25 PM |
I heard we are getting new parking machines ?? | Posted on Sat 11/10/14 07:42 PM |
The free parking on Saturdays officially ends on the 30th November. However the Saltash Town Improvement Group will be applying to extend this to include December, January and February. This will be Saturdays only. Usual charges apply on week days.
New ticket machines / a new tear off ticket facility will be implemented by Cornwall Council as soon as they are ready. We understand this will be at the end of November but the date is not confirmed.
The idea of the "tear off tickets" is that one half is displayed in the vehicle window and the other half is retained by shoppers to receive discounts in Fore Street businesses. We will update the parking situation once we hear more. | Posted on Wed 15/10/14 10:17 AM |
